Is Ameriplan health insurance?
No. Ameriplan membership plans are not insurance. They provide access to healthcare savings, discounted services and other membership benefits through participating providers and programs.
Does one membership serve my household?
Yes, though who counts as your household differs by benefit. The dental, vision, prescription, chiropractic and hearing savings cover everyone living in your home, with no limit on how many. Elite's care visits — primary care and urgent care through Telehealth, behavioral health and care navigation — cover you plus up to 10 dependents. Pet telemedicine has no limit on the number of pets. If you are joining Elite for the care visits, check who you need covered before you enroll, or ask Customer Support.
Can I use Ameriplan if I already have insurance?
Yes. Ameriplan is not a replacement for health insurance. Eligible savings may be useful alongside other healthcare arrangements, subject to the applicable program rules.
How much does Ameriplan cost?
Memberships are monthly and cover your household: Basic is $19.95, Deluxe $39.95 and Elite $89.95. A one-time $20 Member Registration Fee applies when joining, so the first payment is $39.95, $59.95 or $109.95.
Where is Ameriplan available?
Everywhere except Alaska, Montana, North Dakota, South Dakota, Utah, Vermont, Washington State and Wyoming. Washington, D.C. is included. A membership can't be bought for an address in those eight states. Anywhere else, use Provider Search to see which participating providers are near you.
How do I find participating providers?
Use Provider Search to explore participating care in your area, then confirm participation when appropriate before receiving services.
How much will I save?
Savings vary by provider, service, program, membership and location. Ameriplan does not promise one blanket savings percentage.
Are there waiting periods?
For most benefits, no. Dental, vision, prescription, chiropractic, hearing, and labs and imaging savings can be used as soon as your membership is active. Two things take a little longer. Telehealth visits start once you activate your Telehealth account from its welcome email; it uses a separate app from the Ameriplan app. Deluxe's healthcare advocacy can be used three business days after your membership's active date.
Can I cancel my membership?
Yes, at any time, in writing. Telephone requests are not accepted. Use the cancel link in your confirmation email, or email cancel@ameriplanusa.com with your member number. If you cancel within 30 days of joining, your membership fee is refunded; the one-time registration fee is not refundable. No further membership fees are collected once your cancellation is processed. The Cancellation page has the full terms, including the mail and fax options.
Does Ameriplan pay my healthcare provider?
Ameriplan is not an insurance company. For discount-provider services, Members generally pay participating providers at the applicable Member rate.
What is a Benefit Consultant?
An independent Ameriplan representative who can enroll Members and earn compensation on qualifying activity under the official compensation plan.
